On Tuesday, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate for 2023, and Governor Hope Uzodimma were locked in a loving embrace in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
The two politicians met by chance at Owerri’s Sam Mbakwe Airport. While Obi was in Imo for a presidential rally, Uzodimma arrived from Abuja.

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, briefly exchanged pleasantries with Uzodimma, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and one of those championing the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, in the South-East geopolitical zone.
Following their brief meeting, Uzodimma proceeded to his destination, while the LP presidential candidate proceeded to the Kanu Nwankwo Stadium in Owerri, the site of his rally.
