The Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has praised Governor Hope Uzodimma’s leadership style, calling him a “good man.”
Mr Obi made the remarks when he met the Imo governor at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport during his campaign swing in the state.
This is stated in a statement signed on Tuesday by the governor’s principal press secretary, Oguwike Nwachuku.

Mr Obi, who arrived at the airport before Mr Uzodimma, said he waited for the latter after learning he was already in the air as a mark of respect for the Imo governor.
“Your Excellency, I had to stay back to greet you because I learnt you were already on the way coming. You are a good man, and I owe you that honour to wait to greet you. I really appreciate,” said Mr Obi.
Mr Uzodimma expressed gratitude to the former Anambra governor for his remarks and wished him well.
Mr Uzodimma, an APC governor, recently stated that all political parties interested in campaigning in any government-owned venue in Owerri, Imo’s capital, were welcome and that authorisation would not be denied.

He also asked the state’s relevant approving authorities to grant any political party’s request to use any facility of their choice for a campaign rally.
The Labour Party was the first to do so.
