Son Of Ex-Mozambique President Gets 12 Years In Prison For Corruption

The son of former president Armando Guebuza of Mozambique was given a 12-year prison term by a Mozambican court on Wednesday.

This comes after a significant corruption scandal in which the government tried to hide enormous debts and caused financial disaster.
Judge Efigenio Baptista found Ndambi Guebuza guilty of embezzlement, money laundering, and criminal association in a scandal that developed after state-owned businesses in the impoverished nation illegally borrowed $2 billion between 2013 and 2014. “The crimes committed have brought consequences whose effects will last for generations,” said Judge Baptista.
