Senator Musa Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has denied any plans for the party to unite with other political parties ahead of next year’s election, claiming that such rumors are spread by unsuccessful politicians.

He spoke with journalists in Abeokuta, Ogun State, immediately after addressing NNPP members at the capital’s party secretariat.

Kwankwaso said, “That’s absolute nonsense. You see we believe that we are not above the three or four parties in this country, but by 2023, next year, by the grace of God NNPP will win the election at national and all other levels.

“Merger is already gone. We have our candidates. In all the parties, everybody is campaigning. So, disregard that nonsense.”

When asked if he would resign for any contender, he replied, “Don’t ask me such crap.”

If elected, the NNPP presidential candidate promised to strengthen Nigeria’s armed forces with one million recruits.

He went on to say that his government will provide residents with education at all levels and would prioritize youth and women’s empowerment.

In his words, the State Chairman, Olaposi Oginni, said “only lunatics would vote for APC” next year.

He stated that due to the level of suffering and the poor state of the economy under the APC administration, no Nigerian is expected to vote for the ruling party in 2023.
