On Wednesday night, a squad of thugs and hoodlums escorted by plain-clothes officers believed to be working for Nigerian millionaire and politician Arthur Eze reportedly lay siege to the house of his niece, Prince Olisa Eze.

On September 1, 2022, Arthur forcibly evicted his late brother’s son, Olisa, and his entire family from their home using a phony execution warrant that the police refused to present Olisa and his wife, Amarachi.

Arthur personally oversaw the illegal operation, leading a team of armed policemen who unleashed mayhem on the occupants and threw their belongings out of the house.

Arthur took his two brothers, Olisa and Onyeka, to a Federal Capital Territory High Court in November 2020, accusing them of diverting his business funds for their personal use.

According to news reports, some 20 thugs using welding sticks and other deadly weapons, along with some police officers dressed in mufti, rushed the residence at No. 5 Ifeanyi Ararume Street, Mabushi, around 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, brutally smashing the gate.

One of them was dressed in mufti and armed with a gun, while another with a walkie-talkie reported the situation to their superior.

The thugs were said to be led by Jahi Vigilante Commander, whose identity was unknown at the time of filing this report.

Two mobile police officers were also seen inside a Toyota Camry sedan, monitoring the entire operation but refusing to come out, most likely to disguise their identity.

For the third time, journalists were unable to determine the motive for the recent incursion by suspected thugs.

Meanwhile, a genuine court ruling refusing Arthur Eze’s request for a warrant of execution to carry out the illegal eviction was displayed at the gate.

According to a letter dated September 22, 2022 and signed by the Director of Enforcement, FCT High Court, Chukwuemeka Toni Ubani, the court never issued a warrant of execution and did not have a Certified True Copy (CTP) of the warrant.

The letter read, “Please recall that in your letter dated 6th September 2022 in respect of the above subject matter, you requested for a Certified True Copy (CTC) of a warrant of execution in respect of the suit.

“I have been directed by the Chief Registrar to inform you that the court is not in possession of any such warrant of execution, neither did the court levy any execution in the matter.”

The most recent operation lasted approximately 40 minutes and was abruptly terminated when the occupants did not respond.

Olisa’s wife, Amarachi, told Newsmen that if anything bad happens to any of her family members, Nigerians should hold Arthur Eze accountable.

She accused Arthur Eze of sending thugs with sticks, daggers, and clubs to their compound late at night.

She pleaded with security personnel and well-meaning Nigerians to persuade Arthur to leave her family alone.

Amarachi said, “About twenty 20 hoodlums were brought to the premises of our house today at about 8:00 pm. They were carrying sticks and other dangerous weapons and looking into the compound.

“One of them was holding a gun while another was holding a walkie-talkie to pass information regarding the situation report.

“We also noticed that somebody was taking the thugs around and pointing into the compound to show them something.

“Two mobile policemen were in the vehicle watching and monitoring what was going on but they did not come out

“They came close and hit the gate and took the picture of the court paper posted on the gate. My daughters woke up from their sleep and started crying and shaking.

“We don’t know their aim and mission but it looks as if they are coming back to attack us.”

In a letter dated Friday, August 26, 2022, addressed to the Inspector General of Police, Arthur requested 30 police officers to enforce the FCT high court’s order of final forfeiture issued on April 28, 2022, in suit No. FCT/HC/M/5661/2022.

Osho – Adebiyi on April 28th 2022 in the above-mentioned matter.”

Meanwhile, the matter is still pending before the Court of Appeal with suit No. CA/ABJ/CV/915/2022.
