Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, will represent the interests of all regions of Nigeria, according to Speaker of the House of Representatives Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila.
At the Surulere Constituency 2 APC Town Hall gathering on Saturday in Lagos, Gbajabiamila made the remark.
If elected, he will take care of all the peoples of the nation, he claimed, adding that the APC presidential candidate was concerned about the development of Nigeria.

“One thing I can assure all Nigerians is that when Asiwaju Bola Tinubu becomes the president of this country, he will be president for all.
“He will care for the Yoruba people, he will care for South South , he will care for the Igbos, he will care for the Nupes and the northerners.
“He is the only candidate that has proven himself well.He has the capacity and will deliver”, Gbajabiamila said.
The Speaker specifically urged Igbos to support Tinubu with their ballots in order to advance the nation.
Because Tinubu is not from the South East or any other region like him, he claimed it is unfair not to vote for him.
Gbajabiamila praised Tinubu for all he had accomplished for the Igbos and urged residents of the area to back him wholeheartedly in his efforts to lead the nation.

“To our brothers and sisters from the South East, has Asiwaju done anything to offend anybody in the South East? Has he done anything wrong?
“Tell me one state in Nigeria where you have a non -indigene in the cabinet. I can tell you ,the only state where that happens is Lagos state.
“The Director-General of Budget Office in Nigeria, one of the highest positions in Nigeria, what is his name? Ben Akabueze. Is he from from Lagos? No ,he is from the South East and Asiwaju put him there.
” He determines the budget.Whatever any money any agency or department is looking for, it must come Akabueze’s table.He determines whether to give or not to give.That is a man from the South East, put there by Asiwaju Tinubu.
“And I can give you many more names. So, why will a man that has done much for the Igbos now come to you for votes ,and you tell him he has not done bad ,he has done well ,but because he is not from the South East ,we have somebody from the South East to vote for. I think that is not the way to go,” he said.

Gbajabiamila emphasized that the 2023 election was about the nation’s growth and urged Nigerians to choose competence above loyalty to a particular tribe or religion.
Despite serving as the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the Surulere 1 Federal Constituency, the Speaker claimed he was present at the Surulere 2 APC Federal Constituency meeting to secure the party’s success there.
He added that it was time for APC to retake the area, lamenting the fact that the party had lost the district to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party in 2015 and 2019.
He pleaded on party members to avoid squabbling among themselves and rally around the party’s victory in the region in 2023.
APC is the party for Nigerians, according to Mr. Agboola Dabiri, a former commissioner for youth and sports in Lagos State.

He asked Surulere Constituency 2 residents to support the party’s candidates.
Voting APC in the area, according to Dabiri, chairman of an APC task team established to win over the constituency, would result in the distribution of democratic benefits to the populace.
“You all know what the people of constituency 1 ,represented by the Speaker ,are enjoying .
“They are too numerous to mention.You too will enjoy the same and more if you vote our candidates to represent you at the House of Representatives.
“The PDP that is representing you now is not the best for you .You should do the right thing in 2023.”he said.
Although Gbajabiamila represents Surulere 1 Federal Constituency, majority of his initiatives were completed in Surulere 2, according to him.

According to Dabiri, the Speaker built numerous roads in Constituency 2 and installed lamps on numerous streets in Itire-Ikate and Coker Aguda.
He claimed that having an APC Representative in the area in 2023 would be better for the local populace.
Even though Gbajabiamila does not represent Surulere 2, Mr. Ahmed Apatira, Chairman, Itire- Ikate Local Council Development Area, praised him for all of his achievements in the neighborhood.
He made a commitment that the council and the party will make every effort to hand over the territory to the APC in 2023.

Also addressing, Mr. Rasak Olalekan, Chairman, Coker-Aguda LCDA, praised the Speaker for showing love to the residents of constituency 2 and claimed that the Speaker had shown that he was a compassionate leader via his several projects in the area.
