Rejoicing has spread throughout the Warri diocese of the Catholic church in Delta state since Rt. Msgr. Anthony Ovayero Ewherido was named the diocese’s bishop.
He is a 62-year-old professor of biblical languages and theology.
The selection puts an end to the wait and rumours regarding who will succeed Bishop John Okeoghene Afareha, who retired around seven months ago.
