2023: If Elected, Nobody Will ‘Japa’ From Nigeria – Peter Obi

Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate for the election in February, has urged voters to cast their ballots for the character rather than the tribe.

This was said by Obi on Saturday in Akure during a town hall gathering to solicit support from Ondo State residents for the election on February 25.

If elected president, the LP presidential candidate said, Nigerians would be secure and proud of their nation since he and his running mate, Sen. Ahmed Datti, were persons with traceable backgrounds.

Because he was frugal but not dishonest, according to Obi, the people of Anambra state could benefit from his savings as governor.

“They said that I’m stingy, we want stingy people now so that we can keep the money. We want to make sure we use your money to transform the country.

“Don’t vote for tribe, if they say it is their turn, tell them it is your turn to take back the country. We are ready to save the country.

“This election is about character. You know our background, the school we went, we don’t know to their age,” he said.

Obi stated that the nation lacked security and that its citizens were suffering from starvation and misery. He also promised to increase the number of police and military personnel and to provide them with insurance so that they might give their life in defense of the nation.

No Nigerian would leave their town due to insecurity, according to Obi, who pledged to encourage small businesses. We promise that you’ll no longer feel insecure.

“We want to change Nigeria for better. We want to move Nigeria from consumption to production.

“We don’t want people to run out of Nigeria again. We want to restructure Nigeria for development. We want to build a better Nigeria, so go out and support us.

“We want to fight corruption. We will make sure that we have electricity. The whole South of Ondo State has not seen electricity for several years, how can there be development?.

“Pick your PVCs and vote for Labour Party and make sure that they count the vote. I am the only Governor that left good money,” Obi said
