Buhari, Tinubu Stranded As Bauchi Presidential Rally Cut Short Over Power Outage

The All Progressives Congress, APC, abruptly ended its presidential campaign rally in Bauchi State on Monday at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium after the microphone on the podium failed.

Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who was scheduled to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari and the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to the stage, had hardly begun speaking when the microphone malfunctioned.

After the frantic efforts of the engineers managing the event’s electrical equipment proved ineffective, President Buhari reportedly stepped to the stage and gave the party’s flag to the APC governorship candidate in the state, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (rtd).

Following the presentation of the flag, the President’s security escorted him out of the stadium without delivering a speech.

Similarly, Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, left the site without saying anything to the crowd of party members and supporters when the development produced a ruckus.
