2023 Elections: PDP Suspends Ebonyi State Chairman

The Peoples Democratic Party’s National Working Committee, NWC, has suspended the head of its Ebonyi State branch, Okorie Tochukwu Okoroafor.

The PDP National Working Committee announced this at the conclusion of its emergency meeting in Abuja on Friday.

Debo Ologunagba, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, indicated in a statement that this was done in accordance with provisions 29 (2) (b) and 57(3) of the party’s constitution (as amended in 2017).

Ologunagba stated that the NWC, on behalf of the NEC, authorized Okorie Tochukwu Okoroafor’s suspension with effect from Friday, January 27, 2023, due to charges of anti-party actions and violations of Section 58 (1) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017).

The statement reads in part: “Consequently, Okorie Tochukwu Okoroafor has been referred to the party’s appropriate Disciplinary Committee for further action.”
