2023: NNPP Chieftain Blasts Kwankwaso, Says He Has No Capacity To Rule Nigeria

Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s bid to become President of Nigeria on the platform of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, suffered a setback on Sunday when the party’s North East zonal secretary, Dr Babayo Liman, resigned and defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, along with his supporters.

Briefing reporters on the reasons for his departure from his old political organization, Liman stated that the party has “no single structure on the ground that would warrant it winning a national election.”

He also declared that the party’s presidential nominee has little chance of winning the upcoming general elections.

Liman, who has stated that he has quit the party for good Said;

“I resigned my appointment as the North East zonal secretary of the NNPP and join PDP to support Atiku Abubakar and the PDP guber candidate for Taraba State.”

He referenced the NNPP’s Bauchi State chapter’s cold war, which he said the presidential candidate could not resolve, as evidence that handing Nigeria to him will not bode well for Nigerians.

Liman asserted that, except from Kano State, which he [Kwankwaso] presided over as governor, there is no other significant credential to demonstrate that he can handle Nigeria’s affairs.

He said that all of the party’s executives in the North East had abandoned the NNPP.
