The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has ultimately extended by ten days the deadline for exchanging old Naira notes.
The CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, said in a statement on Sunday that the extension had the approval of President Muhmmadu Buhari.

Emefiele noted that the CBN has received 1.9 trillion and has left with 900 billion to achieve effective policy implementation.
The new deadline, according to the apex bank chairman, is February 10, 2023.
