Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, has promised to restructure Nigeria within the first six months if won in the next elections.

Atiku indicated that he had a finalized plan for the country’s restructuring and that if granted the mandate, he is confident that a half-year in government can resolve the issue of restructuring Nigeria.

According to reports, the PDP presidential candidate made the announcement at the PDP Presidential Diaspora Campaign Grand Finale in Abuja on Friday.

He argued that Nigeria would be better off if each region had autonomy over its natural resources.

Okwesilieze Nwodo, Deputy Director, Research and Strategy, PDP Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), represented the PDP presidential candidate, who described how existing socio-economic advances were in place when regions owned their resources.

He observed that “Talking about restructuring by Executive Order, in the first six months, this country will not be what you are seeing today.

“This has been worked out and I’m just waiting to be sworn in on May 29 and the plans will be rolled out.”

Meanwhile, during last week, Newsmen reported that Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike had threatened Atiku with defeat if the party’s Rivers chapter did not back him.

Wike stated 21 days before the 2023 presidential election that whether the former Vice President likes it or not, he needs the support of his state to succeed or else he will fail.
