With 16 days till the presidential election, Afenifere, the leader of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, has been warned not to jeopardize Nigeria’s unity over his favored presidential candidate, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP.
Adebanjo had warned that if the voters did not vote for Obi in the presidential election, Nigeria would break up.
Adebanjo warned Nigerians to brace themselves for war, explaining that some forces are preparing to replace Obi with Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential nominee.

Adebanjo, who said Obi is leading the struggle to free Nigeria from enslavement, also claimed there is a scheme to ensure that another northerner follows President Muhammadu Buhari.
Former Kaduna Central senator Shehu Sani, on the other hand, said Adebanjo’s warning was unworthy of an aged statesman.
In a tweet, Sani wrote: “The respected elder statesman Chief Ayo Adebanjo has the right to market his preferred presidential candidate, but threatening us on the breakup of our country if his candidate is not voted is unbecoming of him.
“I also don’t think even his candidate will subscribe to this.”
