Fourteen days before the start of the 2023 general elections, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, downplayed the chances of his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, Peter Obi, winning the presidency.
On Channels Television’s ‘The 2023 Verdict’ on Friday evening, the former Governor of Kano State said that Obi’s chances of winning the presidential race hinge on a merger with him.
2023 Presidency: ‘Peter Obi, Kwankwaso Alliance May Be Reignited’
According to Newsmen, Kwankwaso said this in response to a series of independent pre-election polls that projected the former Anambra State Governor as the victor of the 2023 election.
“You see, I can tell you, and I’ve said it here on this chair when we were about to come together, and I said it that the only opportunity they (Labour Party) had was for us to come together,” Kwankwaso said.
