Elections: Anambra Police Reiterate Their Readiness

The Anambra State Police Command announced a “show of force” to demonstrate its readiness and assurance of protecting lives and property during general elections.

DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the State Police Spokesman, stated that the decision was made to improve personnel deployment and operational positioning of security operatives in the state.

Ikenga said this in a statement on Tuesday, adding that the security operatives included police, military, and other organisations.

“On Tuesday, the police, military, and other security agencies embarked on a show of force to demonstrate readiness and to assure the protection of lives and properties,” he stated.

The show of force led by the Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, had the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Department of State Services, the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, Immigration Service and other sister agencies.
