Nigerians Protest In Abuja, Demands INEC Chairman’s Sack Over Elections

Citizens of Abuja have marched to the streets to demand that the Chairman of the Independent Electoral National Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, be fired in connection with the recently concluded presidential and National Assembly elections.

In a video that circulated on social media on Tuesday, youngsters in their hundreds are seen holding placards and singing in chorus that the electoral authority must utilize the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) to aggregate election results.

The INEC chairman, according to the enraged youngsters, has so far failed to implement the law and should be sacked.

“INEC utilize the BVAS, the BVAS, our votes must count o, INEC chairman must be dismissed,” stated the voice behind the video.

The Peter Obi Grassroots Mobilisation captioned the video, “Protest ongoing in Abuja over @inecnigeria fraudulent election results.”
