Tolulope Arokodare, a striker from Nigeria, has been ruled out for several weeks, according to KRC Genk of the Belgian Junior League.
In their 3-0 victory against Oostende on Sunday, the lanky forward was taken off after 12 minutes. Genk manager Wout Vrancken later revealed that the 22-year-old had injured his knee.
When he clarified that it wasn’t a cruciate ligament issue, he allayed concerns of a worse issue.
Tolu experienced knee issues, but it wasn’t a cruciate ligament damage, according to Vrancken.

Genk, however, confirmed on Tuesday that the forward would be away for unspecified weeks.
Arokodare joined the Belgian league leaders during the January transfer window from French Ligue 2 side Amiens SC as a replacement for Nigerian striker, Paul Onuachu, who departed for Southampton in the English Premier League.
He scored on his debut against Gent and grabbed his first assist for the side against Mechelen.
Onuachu’s exit impacted Genk, who have only won two of their last five league games since the close of the January transfer window and could have seen their comfortable league lead slip but for inconsistencies from the chasing pack.
Tolu’s injury could derail Genk’s title bid and cut their 10-point lead at the top of the Belgian Pro League if he is sidelined for an extended period of time.LK
