Buhari To Dedicate A New 50-Megawatt Gas Power Plant In Maiduguri

President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to visit Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, today to open the new 50 megawatt Maiduguri gas power plant.

The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited-built petrol plant would provide 50 megawatts of electricity to Maiduguri and its vicinity.
During his visit, the President will meet with and offer condolences to victims of the Monday market fire in Maiduguri.

Maiduguri Monday market was on Sunday rocked by a fire outbreak burning down the entire market.
Millions of naira in shops and commodities were destroyed.

The President extended his deepest sympathies to the victims of the Maiduguri market fire incidents.

He also assures those who suffered losses from the fire incident that the Federal Government will do all within its powers to support the efforts of the Borno State government to ameliorate their plight.
He is expected to commission some projects executed by the Federal Government which include Maiduguri Gas Power Plant.
