INEC Admits Hitches And Insists On BVAS Deployment For Gov Polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission has conceded that there were problems with the presidential and National Assembly elections held across the country on February 25.

This was revealed by INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners in Abuja on Saturday.
Yakubu told the RECs that it was critical for the commission to evaluate election results from last Saturday.
He highlighted that the polls were diligently carried out, but they were marred by concerns ranging from technology to election officials’ delays to the attitudes of political party agents, among other things.

The INEC Chairman stated that a lot of lessons have been learnt from the presidential elections ahead of the Governorship and State Assembly elections.
