Guber Poll: Labour Party Dissolves State Executive Council In Rivers State

The Rivers State Executive Council of the Labour Party has been dissolved.

Julius Abure, the LP’s National Chairman, stated that the decision was made in response to alleged anti-party activities and corruption in the handling of party money in the state.

Abure announced the dissolution in a statement on Tuesday, stating that it is effective immediately.

He stated he had lost faith in the “compromised State Executive Council” led by Deinye Pepple to lead the campaign for the March 11 Governorship and State House of Assembly elections.

They were in charge of affairs in Rivers State, he claims, when the party’s presidential mandate was blatantly stolen.

The national chairman of the Labour Party has stated that they should step aside until an investigation into what transpired on election day is concluded.

Abure asked all Obidients in the state to overlook Pepple’s statements and actions, noting that Beatrice Itubo is still the Labor Party’s candidate for the state’s governorship election on Saturday.

He warned that the Labor Party has not established an alliance with any of the state’s political parties.
