The FG Will Levy Helicopter Landing Fees – Minister

Hadi Sirika, Minister of Aviation, said that the federal government will begin collecting landing fees from helicopters flying in Nigerian airspace.
Sirika made the announcement while unveiling the newest batch of trained Helicopter Monitoring Officers at the International Wing of Port Harcourt International Airport in Rivers State’s capital, Port Harcourt.

The minister, who was represented by Norris Anozie, Director of Human Resources at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), emphasized the Federal Government’s determination to boost revenue collection from helicopter landing costs.

One of the newly trained Helicopter Monitoring Officers told Channels Television that everywhere helicopters land or take off from in the country will be adequately monitored.

The Helicopter Monitoring Officers are going to be vested with the responsibility of collecting landing fees on behalf of the Federal Government.
