Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s governorship candidate in Lagos State, has stated that the rule of those supposedly holding the state to ransom will end with the conclusion of today’s elections.

Gbadebo made the announcement after voting in polling unit 045 Oshifila Anifowoshe, Ikeja.

This comes as he has expressed concern about reported voter intimidation in the ongoing governorship and House of Assembly elections.

Gbadebo further promised that the intimidation would be met with resistance.

He stated that there had been numerous instances of voter intimidation in Kosofe, Iba in Ojo, VGC in Lekki, and Computer Village in Ikeja, among other places.

Rhodes-Vivour is running against All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor.

Following the success of the Labour Party in the state’s presidential election, the election is expected to be hotly contested.
