The Kano State administration has ordered a dawn-to-dusk curfew in order to avoid a breakdown in peace and order as a result of tensions caused by the collation of governorship and state Assembly election results.
Malam Muhammad Garba, the state commissioner for information and internal affairs, made the announcement in a statement issued Monday morning.

He stated that the decision was made to keep hoodlums from inciting disorder in an already difficult environment.
The commissioner urged residents to stay indoors because security personnel would not spare anyone or any organization bent on causing disruption.
