The Labour Party and its candidates have filed 25 grievances with the Lagos national and state assembly elections petitions tribunal, claiming they have been wronged.

The petitions were put on the Rosaline Omotosho Courthouse Ikeja wall, where the tribunal was meeting.

In one of the lawsuits, Labour Party candidates for the House of Representatives in about seven constituencies in Lagos are contesting the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the announced winner of each constituency.

The petitioners are contesting the INEC for failing to comply with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022 in petitions filed by their counsel, Wakeel Olawale-Liady. They claimed that INEC illegally barred them from voting in the national assembly election on February 25.

However, in a suit brought against the speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajaabiamila, by Adeola Adebanjo and the Labour Party, the petitioner argued that INEC failed to comply with the provisions of the law.

Mutiu Okunola and the Labour Party are challenging the proclamation of James Faleke as the winner of the election in the Ikeja federal seat, claiming that the election was unlawful due to noncompliance with the provisions of the act.
