Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate and President-elect, was accused on Friday of purposefully disregarding petitions filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP).

After the findings, the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) in Abuja ordered that Tinubu be supplied with copies of petitions seeking to annul his election through alternate means.

A three-member court panel chaired by Judge Joseph Ikyegh directed that the petitions be served on Tinubu via the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The judgement came after separate ex-parte applications were submitted by the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the LP’s flagbearer, Peter Obi.

Tinubu was accused by the two of delaying service of their petitions on him on purpose.

They told the court that multiple attempts to serve the petitions on Tinubu were unsuccessful.

On Friday, Atiku’s legal team was led by Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), while Ikechukwu Ezechukwu moved Obi and LP’s application (SAN).

“Having heard the applications by counsel to the petitioners, including the affidavit in support, the applications are hereby allowed,” the panel led by Judge Ikyegh said.

The panel also allowed the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, to serve its own petition on Tinubu through alternative ways.
