Chude Nnamdi, a renowned social media influencer and supporter of the Labour Party and Peter Obi who was arrested by Interpol in Anambra State during the March 18 governorship and House of Assembly elections, has stated that he was accused of “calling out” the police and plotting a coup.
According to reports, Nnamdi was arrested on Saturday, March 18, 2023, by police in Anambra State for alleged cyberstalking and released after around five days.
His detention sparked outrage on social media, with some Twitter users claiming he was caught in response to a petition signed by Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

He was taken to Abuja and then imprisoned for many days by police on the basis of a cybercrime petition filed against him.
Chude Nnamdi, on the other hand, rushed to Twitter after recovering his freedom to thank all those who helped him, including Peter Obi and the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore.
He also hailed Dr Sam Amadi, former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), former Education Minister Oby Ezekwesili, former Minister Frank Nweke II, Valentine Ozigbo, a Labour Party chieftain, and other Nigerians for their support.
He wrote; “Dear Nigerians, I thank you all for your love, kindness and solidarity while I was held in detention. I am most humbled and honoured for your relentless demand for my release. Special thanks to @PeterObi, @SamAmadi, @valentineozigbo, @obyezeks, @FrankNwekeII.
