WAEC Stops Confirming Results Manually

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), which has offices in Nigeria, has announced that it will no longer manually confirm or stamp the certificates of candidates who took the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) between 1999 and the present.

This comes after the Digital Certificate Platform for the testing organization was introduced. To reduce the bottlenecks caused by the manual access and confirmation system, stakeholders and members of the public have been asked to use the digital certificate platform.

Moyosola Adesina, the council’s interim head of public affairs, stated in a statement:

Candidate access, download, and sharing of their original WAEC certificates are all made possible by the WAEC Digital Certificate Platform. The certificates of candidates can also be quickly and securely confirmed by institutions and organizations.

“Note that certificates accessed and shared through the platform are authentic and sourced directly from the WAEC database.

“We kindly request that institutions, organisations, agencies, embassies, high commissions, among others, provide email addresses for the digital sharing, receiving, and verification of certificates.”
