Enugu Poll: State Election Tribunal Receives 14 Petitions

According to the Enugu Election Tribunal, it has received 14 appeals from dissatisfied parties and candidates in the Feb. 25 National Assembly elections.

Mr Yusuf Folmi, the Tribunal Secretary, revealed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Enugu.

Folmi stated that the petitions were likely to be filed within the time frame specified for the submission of petitions by any dissatisfied candidate or party.

“The Tribunal has received 14 applications and expects more,” he stated.

He stated that the petitions had been filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP), as well as their candidates.

“Out of the number of the petitions filed, 12 petitions are from candidates for the House of Representatives while the remaining two are from the candidates for Senate,” he said.

He stated that among those who have filed petitions are John Ede, LP; Onwuegbu Anayo, PDP; Okey George, PDP; Cornelius Nnaji, PDP; and Festus Amaechina, PDP.
