According to ANAEDOONLINE Sports Extra, TSG Hoffenheim defender Kevin Akpoguma will have a scan after suffering a head injury last Friday while representing the Super Eagles internationally.

After being kicked in the head during an aerial duel, Akpoguma hobbled off during the second half of the Eagles’ 1-0 loss to Guinea-Bissau at the Moshood Abiola National stadium in Abuja.

He suffered a cut and had his head bandaged before leaving the game in the 55th minute, but the injury prevented him from playing in Monday’s rematch, which the Eagles won 1-0 in Bissau.

The Nigerian defender is doubtful for Hoffenheim’s Bundesliga fixture against Werder Bremen on Saturday.
Speaking ahead of the clash with Bremen, Hoffenheim coach, Pellegrino Matarazzo, said it was too early to say how severe the injury was.
“He suffered a nasty knock on his head,” Matarazzo said.
