Tinubu Pencils Gbajabiamila For CoS, Bagudu, Others For Appointments – Sources

Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, has begun completing some important selections for his cabinet ahead of the May 29 takeover date.

According to reports, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has been named Chief of Staff.

According to sources close to the situation, Gbajabiamila has already begun acting unofficially in that position, which is why he was recently spotted with Tinubu overseas.

“He has technically resumed with him in Paris, and they are trying to work out process and plans,” a source told THISDAY.

In addition to Gbajabiamila, former Lagos State Commissioner for Finance Wale Edun and Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu are thought to be under consideration for important appointments to Tinubu’s team.

According to the source, the president-elect was already thinking about putting together national security and economic teams, and he has already named Edun and Bagudu to his economic team, but their particular positions have yet to be defined.

The source hinted thus: “Wale is supposed to be the coordinator of the economy, either as Finance Minister or the CBN governor. It is not clear yet what his plans are for Bagudu. But he has also been penciled in and is going to be operating at a very high and serious level in the administration.”

According to newsmen, Tinubu is slated to become Nigeria’s 16th President on May 29, 2023, after winning the presidential election on February 25, 2023.
