Former Education Minister Oby Ezekwesili has criticized the Minister of Communication and Culture, Lai Mohammed, for alleging treason against Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi.
According to media reports, the Federal Government has advised Peter Obi not to incite Nigerians to violence over the outcome of the presidential election.
According to Mohammed, Obi is irresponsible to seek legal redress over the outcome of the presidential election while also inciting people to violence.

In a series of tweets on Tuesday, Oby Ezekwesili called Mohammed’s treason accusation “nonsense” and “thoughtless rhetoric.”
A normal person, she claims, will not waste their time worrying about people like Lia Mohammed, whom she describes as a peddler of false allegation.
She wrote: “Nonsense. No reasonable persons in the world ever waste their time worrying about peddlers of false accusations. I think the Minister Lai Mohammed of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture @FMICNigeria is trying to outdo his APC colleagues in thoughtless talks.
“It is the height of sophistry, thoughtless talk and abuse of power for the Minister of Information and Culture @FMICNigeria to throw accusation of Treason on Political Opponents who have taken the right Judicial Processes in contesting the result of an election. Stop it!.
