Olaiwola Lakondoro, Former Shooting Stars Chair, Passes Away At Age 111

Pa Olayiwola Lakondoro, a former chairman of the Shooting Stars Sports Club in Ibadan, reportedly passed away on Thursday at the age of 111.

In an Ibadan-based telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, the 3SC Chairman, Babatunde Olaniyan, confirmed his passing.

Olaniyan stated that the club has been informed of the previous chairman’s passing and is now preparing to visit the departed family.

Lakondoro served in the Colonial Army during World War II, which led him to Scotland, India, and Trimia.

In addition to being the oldest supporter of 3SC and unquestionably the oldest football fan in Nigeria, Pa Lakondoro was the sole surviving member of the Nigerian football team known as the UK Tourists, who travelled to Britain and played barefoot football.
