David Hundeyin’s Account Suspended By Twitter Over Post On Tinubu’s Citizenship

Popular Nigerian investigative journalist David Hundeyin has been blocked on Twitter for publishing Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s personal information on Saturday.

Days after claiming that Tinubu held dual citizenship with Nigeria and Guinea, Hundeyin’s account was locked.

According to Hundeyin, a well-known Peter Obi fan, the nation’s incoming president might have lied.

Hundeyin posted on his blog to confirm the suspension of his Twitter account, saying that his account had been reported for “posting private information” and was currently locked.

“You may not publish or post other people’s private information without their express authorization and permission. We also prohibit threatening to expose private information or incentivizing others to do so”, Twitter’s Private information and media policy stated.

In the meantime, rejecting Hundeyin’s assertion, Tinubu was defended by Nigeria’s Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, who cited the Nigerian Constitution as supporting his position.

During a Channels Television interview on Sunday, Fashola said, “The last time I checked, I think the Nigerian constitution allows you to have dual citizenship, doesn’t it?

“What does his citizenship have to do with the results of the election?” He asked.
