The House of Representatives’ resolution regarding the country’s voter registration has not yet been officially communicated to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), according to the commission.

Rotimi Oyekanmi, Rotimi’s chief press secretary, responded to a publication by the House of Representatives calling for the removal of bogus names from the register on Friday in Abuja.

After unanimously approving a motion of urgent public significance on Thursday, the House passed the resolution at its plenary session.

INEC Reveals Why Dead Persons From Voter Register Can’t Be Removed

Leke Abejide, a member of the 9th National Assembly who represents the Yagba East/West/Mopamuro district, made the motion.

“Our attention has been drawn to media reports of the resolution passed by the House of Representatives on Friday, asking INEC to take certain actions on the National Register of Voters,” Oyekanmi said.
