In the absence of a last-minute modification, the United Kingdom Court of Appeal will hear Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader,’s case.

On June 22, 2023, the court is slated to hear Kanu’s appeal on his extraordinary rendition.

The court had initially determined that the appeal’s basis created significant concerns.

The intended date for the decision was revealed by Kanu’s special attorney, Aloy Ejimakor, in a conversation with Newsmen.

According to Ejimakor: “In an initial order, the court ruled that the grounds of appeal raise important issues. The appeal will be heard on June 22, 2023. Kudos to Kanu’s family and my colleagues, the Bindmans.”

The IPOB leader was detained in Kenya in June 2022 due to his agitation for Biafra and was later charged with a crime so that his trial could proceed.

The Nigerian government has resisted releasing Kanu despite the courts clearing and releasing him.
