Cook-a-thon: Hilda Baci Breaks Guinness World Record

On Monday morning, renowned Nigerian chef Hilda Baci surpassed the record for “longest cooking time” by an individual.

According to Newsmen, Hilda, 27, broke the record after defeating Indian chef Lata Tandon, who in 2019 set a new “Guinness World Record” for continuously cooking for 87 hours and 45 minutes.

The chef, who was born in Akwa Ibom, broke the record on Monday, May 15, at 7:45 am.

Recall that she began cooking on May 11 and wants to break the record by cooking for 96 hours.

The “Cook-a-thon” effort was endorsed by a large number of Nigerians, including politicians and celebrities.

Yemi Osinbajo, the vice president of Nigeria, and Udom Emmanuel, the governor of Akwa Ibom, had phoned her on the phone on Sunday to congratulate her and provide words of encouragement.

Similarly, Hilda received support from Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, who paid her a visit at the cooking location.

Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, both candidates for president, praised the record-breaking chef on Twitter.
