10th Speakership: Abbas Bags More Endorsement From Governors

Aminu Bello Masari, the outgoing governor of Katsina State, and Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, the incoming governor, have both endorsed Tajuddeen Abbas as the consensus APC candidate for Speaker of the upcoming 10th House of Representatives.

News organizations learned that Muhammad Adamu Aliero, a current senator for Kebbi Central and a fellow former governor of Kebbi State, had also endorsed his bid.

The information was included in a statement released on Monday and signed by the Abbas Campaign Office.

10th NASS Leadership: Tajudeen Abbas, Kalu Visit Obasanjo

The trio welcomed Abbas and members of the Joint Task-10th Assembly who visited them separately at their homes on Sunday night, according to the statement, and made clear that they supported him.

Members of the eight political parties that have taken seats in the 10th Assembly together form the Joint Task-10th Assembly.

Aminu Bello Masari, the governor of Katsina State and a former speaker of the House, spoke during the visit and said that as an ardent supporter of the APC, he thought the party’s decision should be respected.

He instructed Abbas and his group to put forth a lot of effort to carry out the party’s decision.

Dikko Umar Radda, the governor-elect of Katsina State, promised to see to it that the APC’s zoning decision was carried out exactly as decided.

For his part, Aliero expressed admiration for Abbas’ credentials inside and outside of the assembly and pledged to rally PDP members-to-be from Kebbi in support of Abbas.
