May 29th: 65 World Leaders To Attend Tinubu’s Swearing-In Ceremony

About 65 foreign leaders, including Heads of State, have been invited by the Federal Government to attend Bola Tinubu’s May 29 inauguration as Nigeria’s 16th president.

News reporters discovered that a number of African leaders had expressed a want to attend the inauguration ceremony, which will be held in Eagle Square, Abuja.

65 foreign leaders, including those from Africa, Europe, and the United States, are anticipated at the swearing-in ceremony, according to a director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who talked with The Punch on the condition of anonymity.

He added that notable Nigerians, former presidents, ambassadors, chiefs of international organizations, and officials from other countries would attend Tinbu’s inauguration.

The official stated that the Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR) will be conferred upon Tinubu and Vice-President-elect Kashim Shettima, respectively, on Thursday to kick off the inauguration ceremonies.

A number of longstanding friends of Nigeria, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, China, Germany, Finland, Jamaica, Japan, Israel, Turkey, and others, are likely to send representatives to the important gathering, according to him.

He said: “We have 54 countries in Africa and most of them have been invited to the inauguration; so, we don’t expect less than 65 world leaders from Africa, Europe, and America at the event.’’
