His Majesty, Ewuare II, Oba of Benin has been appointed as Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abuja, with the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The vice chancellor of NOUN, Professor Olufemi Peters, reportedly revealed this on Friday when paying a courtesy call to the oba in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.

Peters claimed that the visit to the monarch was motivated by the requirement to formally present the University’s Management team to the Oba, a procedure that was typical at the institution.
