Police Confirm Killing Of Inspector In Ebonyi

The murder of a police inspector on Monday in Abakaliki has been verified by the Police Command in Ebonyi.

This was reported to the newsmen in Abakaliki on Tuesday by SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, the police public relations officer (PPRO).
The command is preparing a news release about the incident, according to Onovwakpoyeya.

When he was finished, Onovwakpoyeya added, “I am making a press statement and I will make it available to the media.”
The Inspector and two other police officers were shot by the assailants at a checkpoint, according to Philip Onwe, an eyewitness, who also suffered gunshot wounds.
