Seun Kuti, an afrobeat musician nominated for a Grammy, has been released from police custody.
A Yaba Chief Magistrate Court ordered the singer to be detained at the State Criminal, Investigations and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos for attacking a police officer in a widely circulated video.

On Tuesday, activist Omoyele Sowore revealed on Twitter that the musician had recovered his freedom.
He wrote, “Just to announce that @RealSeunKuti has been released from @PoliceNG detention in Lagos. Hasta la victoria siempre!”
