Following his absence from the recently completed Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), Nigerian actor and politician Bankole Wellington, better known by his stage as Banky W, has spoken out.
On Saturday, May 20, 2023, the Eko Hotel hosted the 9th annual AMVCA, a celebration of African film industry brilliance.
Fans had hoped to see the well-liked duo of Banky W and Adesua Etomi, famed for their gorgeous red-carpet appearances, however several superstars graced the event in dazzling and exciting fashion.
Following the occasion, Banky W posted pictures of himself and his wife wearing identical khaki suits to his Instagram page.

Banky W’s words suggest that despite being physically absent at the AMVCA, he sees himself as a winner with a lifetime achievement award in the category of love.
