Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 presidential election in Nigeria, according to Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), was the result of a divine intervention.

Speaking on Friday at the Public Lecture for the 2023 Presidential Inauguration at the National Mosque in Abuja, Oloyede asserted that Tinubu had received God’s blessing for using the slang phrase “emi lokan.”

The ’emi lokan’ statement, which can be interpreted as ‘it is my turn,’ was made popular by Tinubu during his speech on June 2, 2022 in Abeokuta, Ogun State, when he was promoting the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the party to support.

‘Emi Lokan’: It’s A Personal Agreement Between Tinubu And Buhari – Adebanjo

“When Asiwaju said, ‘Emi lokan’, Allah accepted it because Quran 15:5 and Quran 23:42 says no group can, on its own, hasten his own term and turn, nor can it be delayed by anybody. That is Quran 15:5. So, it is almighty Allah who has said ‘Iwo lokan,’” the JAMB Registrar stated.

Oloyede, who is also the NSCIA’s Secretary General, prayed that the new administration’s journey, which is scheduled to begin on May 29, will be fruitful for both those in charge and Nigerians in general.

“Having thanked Allah who has done this, I hasten to say that He grant our President-elect and his Vice President-elect a successful tenure in good health, sound mind, and divine guidance,” he said.

“May the almighty Allah who has granted Asiwaju — the meaning of Asiwaju is ‘the leader’ — the victory of power not to strip him of the garment of honour.”
