Esther Nwachukwu, a Nollywood actress, has requested that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, apologize to Pete Edochie for not bowing to him in greeting.
She claimed that in order to show respect to Edochie, who is a titled man, the monarch should have fallen flat to the ground.
According to Newsmen, Edochie and actress Kanayo O. Kanayo stirred a lot of controversy when they greeted the Oba of Ife at a social event.

In a widely shared video, Edochie can be seen approaching the 46-year-old monarch and shaking his hand while attending the birthday party of Nigerian philanthropist Elizabeth Jack-rich.
However, Edochie received harsh criticism from internet users who thought he ought to have made a prostration before the king rather than offering three backhand claps.
Esther Nwachukwu responded by denouncing the Yoruba people, claiming that they frequently believe their culture is better to others.
She stated that since Edochie is a titled individual, the Yoruba people should not be expecting him to submit to the Ooni of Ife.
The Yoruba people and their culture were condemned by the dramatist, who charged them with paying false tribute. She emphasized that although the Yorubas use polite greeting gestures like kneeling, they act hypocritically and are ready to attack individuals who have previously shown them respect.

Due to their different ages, she went on to say that the Ooni of Ife should be the one to bow down to Pete Edochie, and she demanded that the Ooni apologize to the seasoned actor.
She said, “Yoruba people how dare you expect 76years old Pete Edochie who is a revered Titled Man in Igboland to bow down to greet the Ooni of Ife, Don’t you guys have respect, you all believe so much in eye service greetings, on a normal day it’s supposed to be the Oni of Ife who kneels down and prostrates to greet the Legendary Nollywood actor Pete Edochie.”
