All permanent secretaries in the state’s civil service have been invited to a vital meeting today, Tuesday, by Abia State Governor Alex Chioma Otti.
In a press statement that was authored by Mr. Ferdinand Ekeoma, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, he announced this.
According to Ekeoma, the gathering would take place in Umuahia’s Michael Okpara Auditorium.

The purpose of the first formal meeting was not made public, however it might have something to do with the Governor’s intentions to restructure the State’s civil service as stated in his inauguration address.
The meeting may also cover the subject of government servants’ unpaid wages, which sparked a three-week walkout.
In his inaugural address, Otti erased the distinction between core and non-core civil personnel, declaring that all employees would be paid equally.
“We will treat all workers in the State as equal and none will be denied salaries while the other will be paid as it was done by the immediate past administration,” Otti had declared in his speech on Monday.
