On Monday, President Bola Tinubu took the oath of office to become the 16th leader of Nigeria.

The swearing-in ceremony for Tinubu and his vice, Kashim Shettima, took place in Abuja’s Eagles Square.

Following the occasion, Tinubu has received many congratulations from Nigerians and foreigners for realizing his long-held dream of becoming president.

On the other hand, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) have not congratulated Tinubu, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

Nearly 24 hours after the event, our correspondent looked through their social media profiles and found no messages congratulating Tinubu.

In a hotly contested presidential election in February, Tinubu had prevailed against Atiku and Obi.

Atiku and Obi, however, are arguing against the election results in court.

Both candidates are announcing that they were victorious.

Due to the fact that he was not invited, Obi had previously stated he would not attend the inauguration.

A social media user, @delanoi wrote: “This is bad for Nigeria’s democracy. Obi and Atiku should have congratulated Tinubu over his swearing-in. It does not stop the tribunal.”
