Prior to the swearing-in of President-elect Bola Tinubu and the candidates who won the last election on May 29, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain said that the party was experiencing some internal issues.

As members of the 10th National Assembly contend for control of the zoning of the key positions in the Senate and House of Representatives, a party stakeholder expressed concern about Tinubu, stating that the president-elect’s health situation might affect all permutations of the party.

The APC leader, a former member of the National Working Committee (NWC), stated that elected members of the 10th Assembly and party stakeholders should be concerned about the President-elect’s protracted absence.

According to Newsmen, a few weeks after the announcement of the presidential election results, Tinubu’s aide, Tunde Rahman, issued a statement claiming that his principle was traveling to France and the United Kingdom for a rest period before continuing on to the Muslim Holy Land for a minor Hajj.

The president-elect will also get ready to travel to Saudi Arabia for Umrah (Lesser Hajj) and the Ramadan Fasting, he said in the statement, noting that Tinubu decided to take a break after the hectic campaign and election season to rest in Paris and London.

“However, the President-elect has not started the transition programme,” the APC chieftain said.

“What you have to know is that we have a problem in our party and that problem is likely to affect so many things.

“As you can see, the NWC of our party is not in unity as you see allegations against the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, from the National Vice Chairman North West, Salihu Lukman. Lukman is not alone in raising all those allegations against the National Chairman,” New Telegraph quoted the party chieftain saying.
