According to Daniel Bwala, a spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation, a former governor is actively campaigning to succeed the current governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
If the former governor or any other politician is chosen to succeed Godwin Emefiele as the head of the CBN, according to Bwala, the Bola Tinubu administration will be engulfed in colossal scandals.
The PDP leader also stated the requirements for the position of the new apex bank boss under the Tinubu administration in a tweet sent on Monday via his verified Twitter account.

Bwala stipulated that neither the incoming CBN Governor nor any of his or her family members should be current or former members of any political party.
The PDP stalwart said that no law enforcement agency must have indicted, be looking into, or be pursuing legal action against the incoming head of the top bank.
Bwala asserts that Emefiele’s successor is not permitted to fully or partially own, participate in the ownership of, or own stock in any bank or financial organization.
In addition, according to Bwala, the person must not be in debt to any bank or financial institution and must not have signed any contracts on a bank’s behalf or worked as a consultant for any bank or financial organization.
He wrote: “A former Governor is pushing heavily for the role of Central Bank Governor. If he or any politician is chosen for that role, No 16th administration would be riddled with scandals of monumental proportions. Here are the criteria for that role;

3. None of his/her family members should be a member of any political party
4. He/she must not have been indicted or is being investigated or prosecuted by any law enforcement body

6. He/she must not have executed any contract on behalf of a bank or served as a consultant for any bank or any financial institution
7. He/she must not have a debt liability with any bank or financial institution
