NASS To Probe Officials Of Aviation Ministry Over Nigeria Air

A hearing for an investigation scheduled by the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation on Monday in Abuja has been postponed.

The controversial launch of Nigeria Air, the nation’s flag carrier, during the previous administration of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari will be the subject of the hearing.

Nnolim Nnaji, the chairman of the committee, came about two hours late and was greeted by a large number of the invited parties who had already left the hearing place.

The Ministry of Aviation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, the Airline Operators of Nigeria, Ethiopian Airlines, and aviation fuel suppliers were among the parties summoned to the hearing, according to news reports.

Nnaji apologized to the remaining stakeholders for his tardiness and postponed the session for 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to reports, the Buhari-led administration made a serious error when it debuted an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737-800 series plane that was over ten years old as the “Nigerian Air.”

SaharaReporters claims that the plane, which was initially used by Ethiopian Airlines, temporarily flew for Malawi Airlines in 2014 before switching back a year later.
